Daman Consulting becomes Microsoft partner

Software giant Microsoft Corp. [Nasdaq: MSFT] has named Austin-based Daman Consulting Inc. one of nine Gold Certified Partners in the new business intelligence category.
Redmond, Wash.-based Microsoft has seven categories, including business intelligence, in which companies that do business with it can apply to become Gold Certified Partners. Those partners receive marketing services, preferential access to information and business referrals from Microsoft.
"It's a powerful seal of approval because it's not the easiest thing to get," says Eric Kavanagh, a spokesman for Daman.
Daman is a consulting firm that helps businesses gather and manage data.
